You Talked, We Listened: Insights from the 2025 RFID Survey

What makes a great RFID customer experience? In our 2025 RFID survey, we asked OEMs, integrators and end users around the world to rate their experience with ELATEC—from product performance to software usability and customer service. The results reveal key insights that are helping us define the future of access control. 

At ELATEC, we believe the best RFID customer experience starts with listening. That’s why we conduct a regular RFID survey to hear directly from our customers about what’s working, where we can do better, and where we stand in a broader RFID vendor comparison.  

The 2025 RFID survey was designed to evaluate how we’re performing across our three core pillars—hardware, software, and service—and to provide clear, actionable feedback. Together, these pillars define our unique approach to enable unified access:

  • Software: Broadly compatible, highly customizable, and built for seamless integration.
  • Service: Expert, responsive support from planning through deployment and beyond.

Key Findings from the 2025 RFID Survey

Your responses gave us a clear, data-driven view of how we’re performing across the three pillars of the ELATEC experience: hardware, software and service. The results affirmed what matters most to our customers and where we’re delivering strong value today. They also pointed to new opportunities to refine our offerings and evolve with your needs. 

We’re pleased to share that the results showed consistently high marks across all areas, with an average overall rating of 5.39 out of 6 and no category scoring below 5.0. Here’s what our RFID customers had to say across each of these pillars, and why so many continue to trust ELATEC as their RFID technology partner. 

Product: How Do ELATEC’s RFID Readers Perform in Real-World Applications? 

Product quality and application fit are critical to delivering effective RFID solutions, and the feedback we received reflects how our readers are performing in the field. In the 2025 RFID survey, customers rated us 5.7 out of 6 for product quality and reliability, and 5.5 out of 6 for how well our readers meet their specific application requirements

These strong ratings highlight the importance of our focus on universal design, broad compatibility, and engineering for long-term durability. Many respondents commented on the flexibility of our readers across a range of use cases, their ability to support multiple credential types, and ease of integration into existing systems. 

Respondents also shared helpful suggestions to support evolving use cases, such as offering new form factors for space-constrained installations, portable or handheld readers for mobile workflows, and additional communication interfaces. These insights are being incorporated into our product development roadmap to better serve customer needs going forward.

Software: How Does ELATEC’s RFID Software Support Configuration and Customization?  

Alongside our RFID hardware, many customers rely on ELATEC’s RFID software tools to support configuration, customization and integration. In the 2025 RFID survey, respondents gave our software strong marks: 5.1 out of 6 for user-friendliness and SDK scope, and 5.2 for DevPack functionality and integration. Customers praised the flexibility of our software tools, the robustness of the SDK, and the ability to tailor reader behavior to meet specific use cases. Many noted that ELATEC’s development environment makes it easier to integrate RFID functionality into complex systems. 

Our software is updated regularly, and we are constantly working to improve it; DevPack updates are released regularly (typically every few months). The next version, DevPack 5.05, will include enhanced configuration options and expanded support for emerging transponder technologies. Moving forward, we’ll continue to invest in software development based on your feedback to support future-proof interoperability and ease of use.  

For example, customers asked for more intuitive workflows in tools like AppBlaster and Director, along with richer SDK documentation featuring real-world use cases. These improvements will help streamline implementation and make it even easier to configure and integrate ELATEC readers into complex systems.

The Service: Does ELATEC’s RFID Reader Support Meet the Needs of Clients and Partners? 

The 2025 RFID survey also evaluated our service and support—an essential part of enabling a complete RFID solution. Respondents gave ELATEC a 5.6 out of 6 for overall service, 5.5 for technical support and 5.3 for sales responsiveness. These results reflect the importance our customers place on accessible, knowledgeable support throughout the product lifecycle, from initial setup to ongoing system optimization. Respondents noted the value of being able to speak directly with technical experts and receive timely, relevant assistance when needed. 

These insights are already informing our internal planning. Based on your feedback, we're looking at ways to enhance our customer knowledge base, add new training resources and increase transparency around product and software updates. Our goal is to ensure that ELATEC continues to be a trusted, responsive partner—not just a vendor—at every stage of your RFID journey.

RFID Vendor Comparison Results 

When choosing a technology partner, trust and long-term satisfaction matter. That’s why one of the most valuable insights from the 2025 RFID survey came from a simple question: Would you recommend your RFID vendor to others? On average, respondents rated ELATEC 5.6 out of 6, with 71% giving the highest possible score. That puts our Net Promoter Score well into the “strong advocate” range. 

Survey participants also shared how they view ELATEC in relation to other RFID vendors. On this question, more than 81% said we outperform the competition. This comparison speaks to their overall experience—not just with the readers themselves, but with our service, support and ease of integration.

About the Survey 

In May 2025, ELATEC conducted a global RFID survey to understand how we’re performing in the areas that matter most, including RFID customer service satisfaction, product quality, technical support and ease of integration. We received 126 responses from professionals across a wide range of industries and applications, from enterprise and education to mobility, industrial and healthcare sectors. We heard from a diverse mix of RFID customers—OEMs, integrators and system designers—across Europe, the Americas, the Middle East and Asia. 

Participants (who provided their feedback anonymously) rated ELATEC across key categories using a 1-to-6 scale, with 6 as the highest possible rating. We intentionally chose a 6-point scale to avoid a neutral midpoint and get more directional, meaningful feedback (either toward satisfaction or toward improvement).  

Hardware, Software and Service: Putting It All Together
