Elatec presents newly-developed TWN4 MultiTech 2 LEGIC LF HF

Elatec continues the success story of the versatile TWN4 MultiTech LEGIC readers and writers. Compared to its predecessor, the TWN4 MultiTech 2 LEGIC LF HF once again offers significantly improved performance in high-frequency reading power. This gives users virtually unlimited options in their choice of transponders.

The new TWN4 MultiTech 2 LEGIC allows reading and writing of almost all 125 kHz and 13.56 MHz tags and/or labels. During the development of the multifrequency reader, Elatec focused on optimizing the HF read performance (13.56 MHz). As a result, it was possible to significantly increase the average read range of HF transponders—even doubling it for some models.

The reader supports more than 60 transponder technologies, including all major transponders from various manufacturers such as ATMEL, EM, ST, NXP, TI, HID and LEGIC, as well as ISO standards such as ISO14443A/B (T=CL), ISO15692 and ISO18092/ECMA-340 (NFC). This gives users maximum flexibility in their choice of wireless technologies.

The high-performance reader can be used for a wide range of applications. The spectrum of uses ranges from secure printing and single sign-on to gaming, machine authentication and authentication on fitness equipment, right through to charging stations for electric vehicles. If required, individual configuration of the TWN4 MultiTech 2 is possible—for example, in the form of customer-specific inlays or the installation of different cable lengths.

The reader combines new capabilities with the proven features of the TWN4 MultiTech series. It has the same form factor (OEM PCB and desktop housing) as the predecessor model, as well as two on-board SAM (Secure Access Module) slots. In addition, it supports contactless (re)programming and can be customized at the factory and in the field using Elatec software tools. The reader thus offers maximum flexibility.
