Every customer project is different and requirements often change over time: Selecting the right device, therefore, calls for foresight. ELATEC products have the advantage that their behavior can always be modified to suit the relevant authentication scenario. Thanks to universal solutions. And competent staff on the Sales team. You’ll find the right device. In the right version. So your project will work – and even better than you could have imagined.
With or without a housing
Depending on the profile and demands of your project, a reader/writer with a housing may be better suited than one without. Both require IT-based configuration and physical integration in your overall solution – but the complexity varies greatly. And key aspects of their use are also different. But the best part is that you have a choice – because most ELATEC products are available in both versions. As a rule, a device with a housing can be deployed faster, it comes with a larger scope and therefore higher cost. Devices without a housing come with lower cost and higher flexibility but require greater modification effort. When making your decision, put your trust in the advice from our experienced experts.
With or without an antenna
Depending on the conditions and requirements of your project, devices with or without an antenna may be suitable; the criteria to be considered include specifics of the installation space and the surrounding area of the reader antenna, as well as factors related to transponder geometry and security aspects. As a rule, devices with antennas can immediately read all transponders; in other words, they are quickly ready for use. Reader modules without antennas require a motherboard to ensure the energy supply and data communication as well as to enable the use of the reader antenna. The antenna must be installed directly on the motherboard or connected with a cable from its detached position. Our Sales team is ready and available to help you through the decision and integration process.
Multi- or single-frequency
The decision whether to use a multi- or single-frequency device in your project depends on your specific requirements. As a rule, the advantage of an ELATEC multi-frequency solution is that it works with all major technologies used worldwide. And, when viewed over the product life, it provides substantial cost benefits despite its higher initial investment.
The single-frequency solution is suited for projects where there is a defined “must” and not much need for “can” – but let our Sales team tell you more about the details.
